watching them grow

one of the greatest pleasures i receive from working with children is that i get to feel so absolutely privileged to be able to watch them grow.

my little friend sam and i go way back. i’ve known him even before he was born. i photographed his mom with her family at their cottage when she was only 4 months pregnant with him.

he is now 2 years old and i’ve been fortunate to photograph him every summer since he was born.

we meet again recently and i got such a kick out of hearing “s” count to twenty, obsess over thomas the train (what little boy doesn’t?) and chug his milk back (which called for a few wardrobe changes..ha, ha). i even let him take a few photos of me with his thomas (what else?) themed camera. a future photographer perhaps?!

can’t wait until next year!

UPDATE: we met again in 2010 and 2011. ‘Auntie Meecia’ loves you Sammy!

    Hi Marcia,

Stumbled (myself…not the stumbledupon) on your blog. Love your shots of this little guy, especially the first set. Hard to choose but I think my fav. is the side profile with his mom in the background. Also love the b&w mom kissing his ears.
