Farewell Belinda
today my best friend lost her best friend.
Belinda, named after the only other one, was a 3-year old rescue cat that came into Kristal’s life 10 years ago. sadly after a sudden decline in health, Belinda passed away. thank you to the staff at East York Animal Clinic who tried to save her.
Belinda was a sweet and beautiful calico girlie. she was so loving and would always greet you with her infectious scratchy mew (which will never be forgotten). when visitors came over she enjoyed showing off by swatting her favourite toy and rolling around on her cat scratcher, inviting you to give her attention. i always got a kick out of how she played with the water in her bowl. she was always ready to snuggle as soon as Kristal came home from work every single day. she was a good sport who made herself at home in all of their apartments around the city. just happy to be with her momma, no matter where they lived.
Kristal, i love you like a sister and i am sending you strength. Belinda was an awesome cat, deserving of the amazing life you gave her.
we will miss you Miss B! xoxo
these photos of Belinda were taken in 2006.
Sending you hugs from us and all our furries, including our beautiful Calico, Bea. Belinda was beautiful.
What great photos of a beautiful cat! So very sorry to hear of your loss, Kristal. It’s always so difficult to lose a pet, I hope happy memories are a comfort to you as you grieve your Belinda.
I am so sorry to hear about Belinda. She was gorgeous and the way Marcia described her, she sounded like a real sweetheart. My last cat Titian used to play with his water that way as well. I like to think they have tons of water bowls and running taps to play with, among other wonderful things, in kitty kat heaven. x
So sorry for your loss. I think we are all pretty lucky to share our lives with these wonderful companions… Enjoy the memories….
Lovely farewell post Marce, you’re a good friend! Belinda was a beautiful and majestic cat. xox
My heart goes out to you. I dread this having gone through it before and having to face it again… but, they are so worth it.
Thanks for the well wishes everyone, and especially to Marcia for posting these shots. Belinda had lost almost 12 pounds over the last few years thanks to a new diet but it’s fun to remember her roly poly days and see what a lovely model she made.
I will miss her sweet, raspy chatter and snuggles every day for the rest of my life.
Farewell Belinda. Though we hadn’t met, my mother often told me stories of the entertaining and inventive ways you chose to spend days around the house. I hope to incorporate some of those myself. Thanks for the inspiration over the years. It was a treat to almost know you.
