Farewell Dotty
Dotty was the gentle old soul and grande dame of Pyrview Great Pyrenees, who I had the pleasure of meeting while I was photographing a litter of 6-week old puppies last month.
It’s with great sadness that I share the news that Dotty passed away on May 13, 2011 at 12 years old (which is a long life for Pyrs).
Even though I was there initially there for the pups, once i met Dotty, I couldn’t help myself not to capture her soulful and gentle eyes. A feeble ol’ gal she was, but once she felt the crisp spring air, she trotted around the yard like a pup.
Find photos of Dotty in her earlier years (including a sweet puppy face) on the Pyrview website here.
I was very lucky to have met you Dotty.
Much love to you and your beautiful Pyr family, Sandy.
Gorgeous Dotty with such soulful and gentle eyes.
She is always on guard…always watching.
The crisp windy day perked her up.
So long sweet lady. What a great life you were given.
dotty was simply gorgeous! her family are lucky to have these photos of her. sadly, my mom’s dog sumi passed away on friday as well. i hope that they are playing together with all the other dogs, happy and healthy, in doggy heaven.
Love that last shot. Goodbye Dotty; I didn’t know you, but I can just tell that you were lovely. RIP. ♥
I am very sorry and feel the sting of your loss; I lost my Golden in December. Dotty was a beautiful and no doubt sweet, loving girl. I wish you well in this difficult time.
Beautiful soulful eyes. I’m sure you will be greatly missed sweet girl~ Run and play Dotty.
Bye Dotty! Enjoy your time in doggy heaven, looking down on your loving family and keeping them out of harm’s way, just like you have always done. RIP
She is a beauty. Such kind eyes 🙂
What a lovely old lady, how sad she had to leave you. Treasure the memories. The photos are lovely.
What beautiful, emotion-filled photos of Dotty. My favorite is Dotty looking up the stairs. Thank you for sharing. Makes me treasure each day with our 8 year old Pyr.
Thank you everyone for your kind words about our wonderful Dotty.
She was a gem. She loved to put her head in your lap and would rub on you if you were not patting her head. A very loving pyr.. All the children over the years at my home daycare would nap while they rested their heads on her.. She was a once in a lifetime girl..
Sandy and the Dyment Family….
Goodbye Dotty. A beautiful and regal playmate, friend, companion and mother. It is hard to know you are gone but where you are is best for you eternally young and pain free. The Rainbow has welcomed a worthy resident.
