the wild ball

last month i volunteered to photograph the annual WILD BALL, held by the Toronto Wildlife Centre to help raise funds in order to treat the thousands of sick, injured and orphaned wildlife they care for each year.

it was held at the Sunnyside Pavilion and it was catered by some of the top restaurants in the city, including The Sutton Place Hotel. there were lots of interactive fun for guests: caricature artists, a tarot card reader and even a dress-up station (yes, i took full advantage of that one as you can see, right), as well as both silent and live auctions and talented entertainers…including a fire eater!

i think my favourite part was that every guest, staff and volunteer wore a set of wild animal ears made out of felt. it was such a great feeling to see everyone get into the spirit of the event. not to mention that the impending rain held off! it was a beautiful early fall evening down by the lake.
